Clean Energy Future

In November, Colorado voted in support of Amendment 37 and yet the utilities continue to drag their feet. The Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) sets the rules that the utilities like Xcel have to follow. These rules will determine whether Amendment 37 is successful or not.

Dear Colorado Public Utilities Commission:

I voted in support of Amendment 37 and I am urging you to implement the measure as it was intended by the voters. The Commission should adopt strong, clear, and complete rules that allow customers to easily install, connect, and sell electricity for a fair retail price. I urge you to adopt solar connection, net-metering, and liability policies similar to those in Nevada, California, & New Jersey.

In order for us to see all the benefits utilities need to start right now to meet Amendment 37's requirement of 3% renewables and 0.12% solar in 2007.
