Proposed protection area by the Colorado Natural Heritage Program and the PCMS expansion plans. They propose protection of 6,000 locations on 16,700 acres in the Picket Wire canyonlands and Companche National Greasslands. 13 areas have been mapped needing protection, including the Greasewood Flats where the Dinosaur tracks are, Minnie Canyon, Little Pine Canyon, Rourke Canyon and Ranch (on the National Register of Historic Places), Welsh Canyon, Withers Canyon, and the South Black Hills.
